About the symposium

Cancer survivors represent a new group of chronically ill in our ageing European populations and this brings challenging problems both in terms of prevalence of late effects and needs for rehabilitation. Thus, more exchange of experience, evidence based knowledge and ideas across the European borders are needed in order to further develop this challenging field.

ECRS 2012 offers an opportunity to learn more about:

• How to integrate cancer treatment, late effects, rehabilitation and survivorship
• Comorbidity and ageing – new challenges
• How do we integrate health behaviour and psychosocial support in cancer treatment?
• Endocrine late effects and fertility issues – how do we counsel patients?
• Childhood cancer, late effects and rehabilitation

Venue
ECRS 2012 will be held, at the Tivoli Hotel & Congress Center located in central Copenhagen.

The symposium will take place September 17-18, 2012. We hope to see you by then.

Pre-symposium workshops
A series of pre-symposium interactive workshops will be offered on Sunday 16 September 2012 including “Physiotherapy for cancer patients. How to relief symptoms following surgical treatment for breast cancer”, “Doing research in clinical setting”, “Family therapy in cancer” and “Municipal cancer rehabilitation”. The workshops will be in English and led by experts in the field.

NCRS 2010

ECRS 2012 builds on the succes of the 8th Acta Oncologica Symposium: Nordic Cancer Rehabilitation Symposium (NCRS) 2010 held in Copenhagen 20-21 September 2010.

ECRS 2012 is held in continuation of the 8th Acta Oncologica Symposium: Nordic Cancer Rehabilitation Symposium (NCRS) 2010. NCRS 2010 was attended by more than 350 clinicians, researchers as well as administrators working with cancer rehabilitation in Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Canada, USA, Germany, the United Kingdom and the Netherlands
