The Danish Cancer Society Research Center has 250 employees from 22 different countries. Head of research is chief physician dr. med., Jørgen H. Olsen.
The Research Center is The Danish Cancer Society's own research center, with six research units.
The units are:
- Diet, Genes and Environment
- Virus, Lifestyle and Genes
- Cell Death and Metabolism
- Genome Integrity
- Survivorship
The Danish Cancer Society also houses two research centers:
- Genotoxic Stress Research Center
- Translational Breast Cancer Research
Research done at The Danish Cancer Society is ranked among the very best in the World. It is placed as nr. 29 of 3.042 of the Worlds leading universities and research institutes. This is shown by the international 'Scimago Institutions Rankings' based on scientific production, and this places the Research Center as nr 10 in Europe and as nr. 1 in the Nordic countries - and thereby in Denmark.
