The Danish Lung Association has become part of the Danish NCD Alliance

11-02-2020
It is with great joy that we now can publicly announce that the Danish Lung Association has become part of the Danish NCD Alliance

The process towards establishing a partnership has been ongoing for a while. The agreement has now been approved by the board of the Danish Lung Association which we are very pleased with.

The Danish NCD Alliance is thereby comprised of the Danish Cancer Society, the Danish Diabetes Association and the Danish Lung Association.

The Danish Lung Association has grown tremendously over the past few years and they now have approximately 20,000 members. The Danish Lung Association has a mission of “less people with lung diseases in the population and a better life for people affected by lung diseases”.

The addition of the Danish Lung Association to our alliance means that we, going forward, have an even stronger foundation for combatting NCDs, including lung diseases, since we will have more experts to utilize and consult with.

We expect to contribute to the Danish Lung Association and its members gaining greater insight into the UN Sustainable Development Goals and global NCD initiatives, especially including how the NCD challenges are addressed in East Africa. We do also hope and believe that the inclusion of the Danish Lung Association in the Alliance will open doors for new funding opportunities.

We would like to thank the Danish Lung Association very much for a good and constructive process and we look forward to a good future collaboration.
