The Danish Cancer Society Research Center houses more than 200 cancer researchers and students and is an international and multidisciplinary research environment with research that ranges from basic to epidemiologic and translational. Please see more at www.cancer.dk/research. We are now looking for a data manager to the research group Survivorship and Inequality in Cancer led by Professor Susanne Oksbjerg Dalton.

About our research

Our research focuses on social inequality in cancer and on physical, psychological and socioeconomic consequences of cancer in large nationwide datasets, using data from e.g. health registries and clinical cancer quality databases. Furthermore, we carry out questionnaire surveys and clinical trials testing interventions to address late effects after cancer treatment using both patient-reported outcomes, medical records, and registry data. We work closely with the research group Psychological Aspects of Cancer, and data management will include their studies using similar methodologies.

About the job

As a data manager, you will be involved in the management of register-based questionnaire and clinical data, in all phases of these projects, from data extraction and handling to analysis, documentation, reporting and storage. You will be part of a network of other experienced data managers at the DCRC.

The job is 37 hours/week with start from 1 January 2020 or as soon as possible thereafter. The position is a five-year fixed-term employment, potentially extendable.

The most important qualification is solid programming skills in SAS and/or R (or Stata) and experience with data management and large datasets.

The ideal candidate is also experienced in working with population and health registries. You may hold a bachelor or master degree in computer sciences, data management, system programming, natural sciences, public health, economy or other relevant background. If you have experience with creating and maintaining ACCESS databases, it will be an advantage.

As a person, you are meticulous, analytic and work systematically with a sense for details. You have good collaborative skills and can communicate in English.
