Board of the Adults after Childhood Cancer Study

An oversight Board of the Adult Life after Childhood Cancer in Scandinavia (ALiCCS) is established.

The Oversight Board is composed of three cancer epidemiologists appointed by of the Board of the Association of the Nordic Cancer Registries and three childhood oncologists appointed by the Board of the Nordic Society of Paediatric Haematology and Oncology (NOPHO).

The appointment is for a period of five years. If a board member wishes to stop earlier a new member is appointed by the respective association/society.

The Oversight Board is established to ensure that the project develops according to the protocol, to ensure direct and easy contact to important institutions and organizations, including the Nordic Cancer Registries, the NOPHO, relevant NOPHO working groups, PanCare, and large pediatric units of the Nordic countries,

  • to ensure that Nordic health care researchers/researcher groups all have free access to the anonymized dataset of the Adult Life after Childhood Cancer Study on condition that a research protocol is fully developed and can be accepted by the Board
  • to ensure that this project adds to the formal education and training of young pediatric oncologists and epidemiologists in the Nordic countries
  • to help to further development of the present research project for the benefit of childhood cancer survivors in the five Nordic countries.

The quality of work will be assessed by the Danish Research
Counsil.
