Ung Kræft: Support and Community for Young Adults Affected by Cancer
Ung Kræft works to ensure that no young people affected by cancer—patients, relatives, or bereaved—aged 18–39 have to face cancer alone. We do this by supporting, informing, and inspiring through knowledge and communities. You are not alone ♥
Meet other young people with and beyond cancer
When cancer strikes just as adult life is beginning, it can be comforting to find other young people you can identify with. On this page, you can read about the different options.
How do I get in touch with other young people – digitally?
Ung Kræft offers a digital, nationwide community in the Facebook group “UNG KRÆFT - UNGE MED OG EFTER KRÆFT".
In the group, you can share and read experiences, thoughts, and knowledge about everything you are going through. Use it for what you need: share your story, talk about your treatment journey, late effects, or get some advice. You can also let your thoughts run free or just be a fly on the wall.
UNG KRÆFT - UNGE MED OG EFTER KRÆFT
Ung Kræft also has a dedicated community for those living with a chronic or incurable cancer diagnosis. This community can be used to exchange experiences and ask questions as well.
UNG KRÆFT - UNGE MED KRONISK OG UHELBREDELIG KRÆFT
You need to request to join the groups, and you will be approved as quickly as possible.
Follow our social media, where young people living with and after cancer, as well as young relatives and bereaved, share thoughts and experiences:
How do I meet other young people – at the hospital?
Some hospitals have dedicated youth rooms where you can unwind, meet other young people with cancer, and take part in various events. If you would like an introduction to the youth rooms and what they offer, or if you’re unsure whether they’re right for you, you can always reach out to a youth coordinator. Ask in your department. If there isn’t a youth coordinator at your hospital, try contacting the nearest one.
Young relatives of young people with cancer
This section is for young relatives of young people with cancer. Below you will find ways to connect with others in the same situation and keep up with relevant activities.
How can I meet other young relatives?
Ung Kræft has a Facebook group for young relatives and a separate group for young people who have lost someone to cancer. In both groups, you can share and seek out experiences, thoughts, and knowledge about the difficult things you are facing. Use the groups in the way that works for you: share your story, talk about the treatment journey and late effects, and get practical advice. You can also simply read along or be a fly on the wall. You are not alone.
