Over the past 25 years, major progress has been made in the treatment of cancer in Denmark. More people survive, and more people live longer with and after the disease. This is a victory for all of us. But as thousands of people experience every year, we are still far from reaching our goal. Every day, the number of new cancer cases increases – partly because we are living longer.
Many people therefore live with and after cancer, and cancer remains the disease that claims the most lives. That is why it is still crucial to prevent cancer, conduct cancer research, and provide help and support to the many people affected by cancer.
The Danish Cancer Society’s strategy United Against Cancer brings together and focuses the organisation’s work now and in the years ahead. It is intended for those who want insight into the Danish Cancer Society’s goals, key priorities, values, and flagship projects.
